High voltage where you need it
Built on decades of experience designing drivers for high-power RF/Microwave switches used in rugged systems, Monzite is introducing a new family of components that deliver high voltage point of load power in small reliable packages.
The new products include switch drivers with integrated charge pumps that efficiently boost single +5 volt supply into +125 volt output and a group of regulated charge pump voltage multipliers that easily integrate with microwave assemblies.
“Our focus is reducing the size of these components, saving board space and eliminating the issues that come with routing high voltages,” said David Robbins, president of Monzite. “When supporting airborne systems, radar and mobile communications, it’s all about size, weight and power.”
The first group to be released are:
Switch drivers with integrated charge pumps
- A dual channel driver for high power GaN switches that need -28V drive levels. The MDD000N280D10A is compact .25 sq DFN which includes both the driver and negative voltage generator charge pump delivering a 0V/-28V output.
- A dual channel driver for high power AlGaAs and HMIC switches that need -28V drive levels. The MDD050N280D10A is compact .25 sq DFN which includes both the driver and negative voltage generator charge pump delivering +5V/-28V output.
These drivers do not require any additional external components to operate which enables integration close to the switch, minimizing routing of high voltages and additional power supply.
Charge Pump
- A -40V generator which operates from a single +5V input ideally suited for GaN switches. The MCI050N400D06A is a compact 6mm Sq DFN and has output current of -4 mA which can drive multiple GaN switch devices.
